Thank you to http://www.jumbledwriter.com/2013/01/20/very-inspiring-blogger-award-apparently-not-a-joke/ who has nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger award. I’m so glad JW has found my blog inspiring. Since I’m an amateur writer, I feel somewhat honored to have this award nomination.
According to the rules of this award, I must display the logo, list seven facts about myself and nominate 15 other blogs for this award. While I don’t like the idea of people being required to nominate (it seems a little chain letterish), I will nominate the sites that inspire me most.
More about me:
- I’ve played guitar for 38 years.
- I’m a Sharks hockey fan.
- Hang gliding is on my bucket list.
- I don’t really like to travel, but I’ve been to 17 states and 8 countries.
- My favorite color is green.
- When I was a kid, I organized all my books like a library. Yes, with a card catalog.
- My oldest grandson is 3 months older than my youngest son. Figure that out!
I nominate the following blogs:
- http://thecommonzenseofstjames.wordpress.com/2013/01/25/one-step-at-a-time/
- http://texanaskitchen.com/2013/01/24/food-pairings-fate-and-why-the-pioneer-woman-wont-tweet-me-back/
- http://diaryofasadwidow.wordpress.com/
That’s it. I’m sure there are numerous other blogs worthy of an inspiration award, but I have yet to find and have the pleasure of reading them.
I would say “congratulations”, but that almost feels self-congratulatory. I do hope that this will enable even more readers to reach your website, though. They deserve to be inspired by you.

Well, I’ll be…my name is in lights, again! Thank you, Laura. That’s two more this week. You deserve the award, so please stop referring to yourself as an amateur. No matter what stage we’re at as writers, we’ll never stop learning. Negative thinking begets negative results. That’s my sermon for today. Smile and say, “Cheese”. 🙂

I love you my friend!! I think I will continue to think of myself as amateur until I publish a book. Then, a pro but still learning 🙂 And, for the sake of SEO I need to use the term to be relevant in my posts. So there you have it. I sure appreciate your vote of confidence though!! (and your sermon).

Can you explain what you mean “for the sake of SEO? You’ve piqued my curiosity. 🙂

Ha Ha! Well because of Search Engine Optimization (the way Google, etc. determines the relevancy and ranking of your site – in case you didn’t know that) I try to make sure certain words are in each of my posts and get tagged. Since that post is in my Amateur Writer category, I try to use those words at least once in a post. That way, what I write is relevant to my site. Hopefully it builds a better ranking for me as time goes on. Not that I have much of a rank at all, but one does what one must to play the game 🙂 Does that help?
